MEET THE ACADEMY TRAINER
How long have you been working for the Ripper Academy?
Around 3 years now
How did you first get into the drone industry and how long have you been in it?
I’ve been flying in commercial aviation for a while and love teaching. I’ve been flying models all my life and drones probably for about 5 years. The unmanned space, unlike commercial aviation, is far more accessible, so it made sense to me to follow my passion into this very exciting part of aviation.
What qualifications do you have?
I’m a Commercial Pilot and have a few additional endorsements to my name. I’m the lead instructor at the Academy.
What do you love most about your job?
Teaching – I love being able to deliver my knowledge to those who have never had any experience before – to make it relevant and fun.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve done with your job?
I’ve seen a lot of amazing things, sharks, spotting and tracking, photography cinematography with DJI RPA is amazing. But I’ve also seen drones whilst flying ‘manned’ aircraft so I really do see both sides.
