Surf Life Saving Queensland

Our Partner, Surf Life Saving Queensland.

We are excited about the future. Our partnership with Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) is significant and we believe will be a move that will revolutionise lifesaving and fast-track our technological advancements.

From humble beginnings, when the first official rescue was recorded on a Queensland beach in 1909, SLSQ, which was formally established in 1930, has developed into a ground-breaking and highly innovative organisation.

SLSQ has 57 established surf lifesaving clubs with members patrolling 8,000 kilometres of the Queensland coastline from Port Douglas to Rainbow Bay. More than 34,000 Queenslanders are volunteer members of a surf lifesaving club and more than 462,000 are a member of an affiliated supporters club.

Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Vision: Zero preventable deaths in Queensland public waters.

From July 2020 to May 2021 Surf Life Saving Queensland completed 2,645 rescues, 640,068 preventative actions, 44,571 first aid treatments.

Capitalising on Ripper’s standing as world market leaders in drone search and rescue deployment, training, research and development, SLSQ aims to integrate its state-of-the-art drone and hi- tech AI applications into existing surf lifesaving operations and wider disaster responses.

SLSQ’s investment in Ripper Corporation will contribute significantly to the organisation’s vision of zero preventable drowning deaths in the state’s public waters.
